PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION DECISION ON LIMERICK UNIT 2 The State Public Utility Commission (PUC) issued a decision on December 5, 1985, recommending, by a 2 to 1 vote, that Limerick Unit 2 construction be completed with a strict, no inflation clauses, 3.2 billion dollar cost cap. Unit 2 is currently about 30% complete. Assuming PECo board of directors acceptance of the PUC decision, within the next few weeks the licensee expects to restart construction activities in early January 1986 with full construction activity by April 1,1986. The licensee's proposed construction schedule projects an early 1990 fuel load date.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been contacted regarding the PUC decision.
