DCS: 50-352/860715 Date: July 15, 1986 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF EVENT OR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE--PNS-I-86-11 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance. The information is as initially received without veri-fication or evaluation, and is basically all that is known by the Region I staff on this date.

ALLEGED B0MB THREAT At about 11:00 a.m., July 15, 1986, the site switch board operator received an offsite telephone call from a female caller who stated "There is a bomb" and hung up. The tele-phone operator notified the onduty security sergeant. The site control room was notified and declared an unusual event in accordance with emergency plan procedures and notified NRC. The Corporate Security Director declared the threat not creditable, but a search was conducted of all vital areas with negative results. Local law enforcement and emergency preparedness personnel were notified by the licensee. No further action is contemplated.
The IAT and the State of Pennsylvania have been informed.
