August 26, 1976 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT- -
PNS-76-45 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Subject:
B0MB THREAT The Bechtel telephone operator at the Limerick site received a telephone call from a male at 3:10 p.m., August 25, 1976, who stated that he was going to plant a bomb at Limerick.
The threat was reported to the Philadelphia Electric Cc gany Project Manager. The Bechtel, contract security-force was alerted but no further action was taken.
The FBI has been notified by IE:I.
Media interest is not expected. The State of Pennsylvania has been
' informed. A press release is not planned.
OIE received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the licensee at 5:05 p.m., August 25, 1976.
