REPORT OF THREAT AGAINST THE STATION On October 10, 1986 at about 1:20 a.m., the licensee received notification from the local
. police that an attendant in a convenience store in a neighboring county had reported a threat against the station. The attendant reported that, about midnight, a white male and a white female sought directions to the Limerick Station from him and, when he questioned why they wanted to go there, the male responded that he had C-4 explosives in his car and was going to blow up the station. The attendant provided the police with a description of the vehicle and a county wide alert for the vehicle was issued in the county in which Limerick ~is located.
The licensee implemented increased security measures around the station. The threat was eventually assessed by the licensee as not credible, but a licensee investigator will interview the attendant who made the report. The vehicle was not located.
The FBI and local law enforcement agencies were notified by the licensee.
The IAT and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have been notified.
hRC Region I received notification of this event at 2:40 a.m. and this PNS is current as of 9:00 a.m., October 10, 1986.
