1. Narrative Summary of Operatina Experiences Unit 1 began the month of April 1998 at 90% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On April 3,1998 at 0815 hours0.00943 days <br />0.226 hours <br />0.00135 weeks <br />3.101075e-4 months <br />, power was reduced in preparation for the 1R07 refuel outage.

On April 3,1998 at 1741 hours0.0202 days <br />0.484 hours <br />0.00288 weeks <br />6.624505e-4 months <br />, with power reduced to 22% of RTP, the reactor was shut down to begin the refuel outage.

Unit 1 ended this month at 0 % RTP with 1R07 refuel outage in progress.

11. Challenoes to Main Steam Safety Relief Valves There were no challenges to the Main Steam Safety Relief Valves during the month of April.

Powerwas restored to 100% of RTP at 0524 hours0.00606 days <br />0.146 hours <br />8.664021e-4 weeks <br />1.99382e-4 months <br />.

On April 11,1998 at 2234 hours0.0259 days <br />0.621 hours <br />0.00369 weeks <br />8.50037e-4 months <br />, power was reduced to 87% of RTP for main turbine control valve testing and main steam isolation valve slow closure testing. Power was

' restored to 100% of RTP on April 12, at 0429 hours0.00497 days <br />0.119 hours <br />7.093254e-4 weeks <br />1.632345e-4 months <br />.
