Narrative Summary of Operating Exoeriences Unit 1 began the month of August 1997 at a nominal 100% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On August 1,1997 at 2121 hours0.0245 days <br />0.589 hours <br />0.00351 weeks <br />8.070405e-4 months <br />, power was reduced to 98% of RTP for main turbine valve testing. Power was restored to 100% RTP at 2229 hours0.0258 days <br />0.619 hours <br />0.00369 weeks <br />8.481345e-4 months <br />.

On August 8,1997 at 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br />, power was reduced to 98% of RTP for main turbine valve testing. Power was restored to 100% RTP at 1642 hours0.019 days <br />0.456 hours <br />0.00271 weeks <br />6.24781e-4 months <br />.

On August 16,1997 at 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br />, power was reduced to 96% of RTP because of elevated turbine condenser back-pressure. While at reduced load, scheduled main turbine valve testing was performed. Power was further reduced to 90% of RTP at 2235 to perform scheduled rod pattern adjustment. This was an administrative response to an uncoupled control rod that was discovered during a rod exercise test. Unit 1 ended this month operating at 100% RTP.
