SUBJECT:

SUPPLEMENT TO BOARD NOTIFICATION RE: CIA REPORT l

I recently learned that the attached memorandum from Sharon Connelly to i

Victor Stello, dated January 6, 1987, which contains a revised chart for j

l pages 34 and 35 of the Comanche Peak OIA report, was not provided to NRR.

It would appear that since the Commission released a redacted version i

of the OIA report on December 11, 1986 which contained an edited form of l

this chert (before the attached rc. visions were received), the corrected chart i

likewise should be released after appropriate deletions have been made; a supplement to the original Board Notification would be an appropriate vehicle.

In preparing the Board Notification, OIA/should be requested to make the necessary deletions, e.g.,

deletion of names, es was done in the case of the k

original chart.

Also, Joe Touchard, OPA, should be informed and given a copy of the edited version when the Board Notification is issued.

January 6, 1987 MEMORANDUM FOR: Victor Stello Executive Director for Operations FROM:

Sharon R. Connelly, Director Office of Inspector and Auditor

SUBJECT:

OIA COMANCHE PEAK REPORT Attached is a memorandum from Mr. Stephen Goldberg in which he advises me that the chart on pages 34 and 35 of the Comanche Peak report does not accurately characterize the analysis of technical issues he performed to determine whether Region IV management appropriately downgraded, changed or deleted inspection findings and violations. Mr. Goldberg's complete analysis, which is included in the report, remains unchanged and there is no effect on the conclusions of the report.
