Subject:
BOMB THREAT At 6:40 a.m. and 7:10 a.m., July 4, 1987, on duty security guards received bomb threats
, stating: "a bomb is going to explode at 12:00 0' clock", and " bomb at 12:01 or 1:00 p.m.".
The licensee immediately implemented their search procedures. Searches of both protected and plant vital areas were completed with negative findings. Plant security conditions were returned to normal at approximately 12:10 p.m. The Suffolks County Police Department was notified of the event and responded to the site. The licensee also notified the FBI.
The NRC was notified via the ENS line at approximately 6:50 a. m. , July 4,1987. This Preliminary Notification is issued for information only and is current as of 11:00 a.m.,
