PNS-77 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Long Island Lighting Company

Subject:

BOMB THREAT At 1:50 p.m., May 10, 1977, a bomb threat was received by telephone at the site. A search was made, and no evidence of a bomb was found.

Long Island Lighting Company is treating the threat as a hoax. Workers were informed of the threat and told that if they desired to leave they would be paid for hours actually worked. Local police and the FBI have been notified.

Media interest is not expected. The State of New York has been informed.

A press release is not planned.

Shoreham is still under construction and
