DCS: 50-322/850615 Date: June 17, 1985 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF EVENT OR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE--PNS-I-85-08 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance. The information is as initially received without verification or evaluation, and is basically all that is known by the Region I staff on this date.

Subject:

BOMB THREAT At 7:00 a.m. on June 15, 1985, the Central Alarm Station operator received a telephone call from the Suffolk County Police Department to advise the station that they had received a telephone call over 911 (Police Emergency Line) from an adult, male caller who stated, "We are a group that placed a device in the LILC0 (Long Island Lighting Company) containment building. I suggest you evacuate immediately." A search of the control room and reactor building began at 7:11 a.m. The search was completed at 7:50 a.m. with negative results.

The NRC was informed of the event via the Emergency Notification System. The State of New York has been informed.

This information is current as of 10:00 a.m., June 17, 1985. Region I plans no further action.
