RELEASE AB0VE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS LIMIT At 7:00 a.m. on September 16, 1977, 910 gallons of contaminated laundry i
water was released from the Dresden Unit No.1 Huclear Station to the discharge canal at a concentration greater than that allowed by the Technical Specifications. An error was made in the calculation of the dilution needed for the laundry water. The total release contained less than 0.4 microcuries.
The event is not considered to be a health and safety problem, but could attract public interest.
A press release is being prepared by the licensee. A press release by Region III is under review. The State of Illinois has been notified.
