PIPE CRACK ON 6-INCH CLEANUP LINE The licensee reported that on September 1, 1975, a circumferential crack was found on an unisolatable section of the 6-inch primary coolant cleanup system line return from the primary side of the "B" steam  !

generator. The approximately one inch long crack was in the heat i affected zone of the weld between the 6-inch line and a 15-inch long  !

weldolet. The crack was found af ter humidity and dew cell indications

- were cbserved in the sphere. @

No radioactive releases were encountered. The unit is shut down for l

!, investigation of the pipe crack. l An inspector has been dispatched to the site.

The licensee will issue a press release. IE:III will issue a press release. The state of Illinois has been notified.

Region III received notification of this occurrence by telephone from The Operating Engineer at 1600 hrs on September 1, 1975.
