FEMA EXERCISE REPORT FOR WATERFORD 3 The enclosed letter from Richard W. Krimm, Assistant Associate Director, Office of Natural and Technological Hazards Programs, FEMA, dated July 25, 1984, forwarded the FEPA Region VI report of the February 8,1984 full-participation exercise for Waterford 3.

There were no Category "A" deficiencies identified by FEMA.

FEMA Region VI reported that while there were Category "B" deficiencies which require correc-tive action, the Louisiana State Office of Emergency Preparedness and the Louisiana Nuclear Energy Division demonstrated an adequate state of readiness for dealing with a radiological emergency. FEMA has forwarded a copy of its report to the State of Louisiana and will request a schedule of actions for ccrrection of deficiencies.

FEPA's analysis of the State's response will be forwarded to you when received.

It is recorrended that you transmit the FEMA exercise report to the applicant and continue to coordinate with FEPA Region VI to ensure that the deficiencies in oftsite preparedness identified in the FEPA report for Waterford 3 are corrected in a timely matter with the assistance, if necessary, of the applicant.
