SUMMARY

REPORT Enclosed are Volumes 1 and 2 of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Unit 2, (VEGP-2) Inservice Inspection (!$1) final Report which constitute the

• 0wner's Report for Inservice Inspection (Form NIS-1)" required by subsubarticle IWA-6230 of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI, 1983 Edition with

. Addenda through Sumer 1983. Inservice inspection activities which were conducted at VEGP-2 during the Fall 1990 maintenance /refuelingoutageare discussed therein. Also ' neluded therein are "0wner's Reports for Repairs or Replacements (Form NIS-2)" for repairs and/or replacements documented at VEGP-2 from immediately prior to t1e receipt of the operating license in February .1989 through the Fall 1990 maintenance / refueling outage. Volumes 3 through 7 of_the ISI Final Report contain- information not typically provided in the "0wner's Report for Inservice Inspection-(Form NIS-1)",

e.g., personnel certifications, nondestructive examination procedures, etc., and are not included herein. Volumes 3 through 7,-however, are available for review upon request at the plant site.

With regard to the NIS-2 reports on repairs and/or replacements, only the completed NIS-2 forms are being submitted.- Any attachments, e.g., code data reports, etc., that are referenced in - the completed NIS-2 forms will be made available for review upon request at the plant site.

Contained in the VEGP-2 " Owner's Report for Inservice Inspection (Form NIS-1)" is a. discussion on the inspection of steam generator tubes performed during- the Fall 1990 maintenance / refueling outage. That discussion constitutes the Special Report required by Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Unit- 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specification 4.4.5.5.b to be submitted to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) within twelve months following completion of the steam generator tube inspection.

Accordingly, there will not be a nparate submittal made to the USNRC on the inspection of the-steam generator tubes performed during the subject outage. By copy of this letter, the appropriate USNRC Regional 9102010137 910125 PDR ADOCK 05000425 Ofy Q PDR '

MSV-00364 Page 2 Administrator is being provided a copy of the enclosed report volumes; thus, compliance with the requirements of Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Unit I and Unit 2 Technical Specification 6.8.2 for submittal of Special Reports to the appropriate Regional Administrator is met.

Five copies of Volumes 1 and 2 of the ISI Final Report for the Fall 1990 maintenance / refueling outage are provided for your review. The Regional Administrator for USNRC Region II is being provided with two copies of the subject report volumes.
