ATTACHMENT 1 Specification LCO 4.2.6 - Firewater Pumps, Limiting Conditions for Operation t

The engine driven fire pump, motor driven fire pump, and associated pump pits shall be operabic and there shall be at least 325 gallons of fuel in storage during power opera tion.

B_ asis for Specific *ation LCO 4.2.6 Rev. Either of the fire pumps operating in conjunction with either fire-water booster pump provides adequate capacity to operate a circulator water t

turbine and supply emergency cooling water for safe shutdown cooling. With the 325 gallons of fuel in storage, the engine driven fire pump can operate at rated conditions for 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
which is adequate time to have more fuel de-livered to the site. For further explanation see Final Safety Analysis Re-port, Sections 1.4,10.3, and 14.4.

' _ Specification LCO 4.2.19 - Firewster Booster Pumps, Limiting Conditions for Operation .

There shall be one operable firewster booster pump during power operation.

Rw. -

Basis for Specification LCO 4.2.19 One firewater booster pump has sufficient capacity to supply the water for any one of the four helium circulator water turbines. This is ade-

/'

quate for safe shutdown cooling.

Specification SR 5.2.7 - Unter Turbine Drive Surveillance Components of the helium circulator water turbine drive system shall be tested as follows: .

a) One circulator and the associated water supply valving in each loop will be functionally tested by operation on water turbine Riv .

drive using feedvater, condensate, and boosted condensate (sup-plied to the-firewater booster pumps at fire pump discharge pres-I sure), annually. .

b) Safety valves (V-21522, V-21523, V-21542, and V-21543), located in the water turbine supply lines", will be tested for relieving pressure annually.

) c) Both turbine water removal pumps and the turbine water removal tank overflow to the reactor building sump shall be funct'ionally tested every three months.

d) The instrumentation and controls associated with c) shall be

( functionally tested in conjunction with and at the same inter-vals as the turbine water removal pumps an'd shall be calibrated annually.

ATTACHNENT 4 Specification SR 5.2.22 - Firewater Booster Pump Surveillance ,

1 i

Each firewater booster pump shall be tested annually by providing motive power to one water turbi..e drive in conjunction with the performance 1 of SR 5.2.7. In addition each pump shall be functionally tested quarterly.

The associated instruments and controls shall functionally be tested quarter-ly and calibrated annually.,.

Rev. Basis for Specification SR 5.2.22

. */ '

During accident conditions described in Final Safety Analysis Re-port, Section 14.4.2.1, one of the firewater booster pumps and one fireeater penp are required to provide adequate core cooling. The specified testing in-terval is sufficient to ensure proper operation of the pump and associated controls.
