Dear Mr. Beckham:

GJohnson WHazel ton By letters dated llay 1,1980 and liarch 11,1982, you requested relief from the 1974 Edition of the ASME Section XI Code in regard to the Code required inservice inspection hytostatic minimum test triperature of 100*F. You also requested that hydrostatic test duration times be addusted for insulated and non-insulated systems. You requested a hydrostatic test temperature of no less than 70SF and hold times of four hours for insulated systems and 10 minutes for non-insulated systems.in accordance with later addenlja to the 1974 Edition of the Section XI Code. Your requests are based on the results of a nil ductility analyses and on the " undue hardship" considerations allowed by 10 CFR 50.55a.g.5.1v.

Based on our review of the infonnation in your submittals, we have no objection to the use of the requested hydrostatic test tanperature and hold times.
