UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-346 THE TOLEDO EDISON COMPANY THE CLEVELAND ELECTRIC ILLUMINATING COMPANY NOTICE OF GRANTING RELIEF FROM ASME CODE REQUIREMENTS The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted relief from certain requirements of the ASME Code,Section XI, " Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Componerats,"

to The Toledo Edison Company and The Cleveland Electr.

Illuminating Company, which revised the inservice inspection program for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No.1, located in Ottawa County, l

Ohio. The ASME Code requirements are incorporated by reference into the Comission's Rules and Regulations in 10 CFR Part 50. The relief is effective as of the date of issuance.

This action provides relief from perforraing various Code required inspections of welds, components and bolting.
