NOTICE OF GRANTING RELIEF FROM ASME CODE REQUIREMENTS The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (thL Comission) has granted relief from certain requirenents of the ASME Code,Section XI,

" Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components", to the Georgia Power Company, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, and City of Dalton, Georgia ('the licensees),

which revised the inservice inspection program for the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units Nos.1 and 2 (the facility) located in Appling County, Georgia.

The ASME Code requirements are incorporated by reference into the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR 50.

The relief is effec-tive as of the date of issuance.

The requests for relief comply with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Com-mission's rules and regulations.

The Comission has marie appropriate

findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the letter granting relief and accompanying Safety Evaluation.

The Comission has determined that the granting of this relief will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pur-suant to 10 CFR 151.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in cnnnar-Haa w" this action
