Dear Mr. Reid:

This letter is to transmit a revision to the Inservice Inspection Program for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. I which was submitted by letter on May 15, 1980 (Serial No. 616). Please find attached five (5) copies of the revised pages of the Inservice Inspection Program.

The changes made in this revision refltet the results of the review meetings between The Toledo Edison Company and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission held on November 19 and 20, 1980, at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This revision is composed of three (3) sections which correspond to Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the original submittal.

As agreed to during the review meetings, The Toledo Edison Company will inform the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission as to what portion of the Lower Head Weld, MK-181 to MK-6, can be examined.

f is weld is now identified as receiving volumetric inspection of the accessible length.

The earliest opportunity for determining this length will be the first outage at which the lower head isolation will be recoved.

Where examination requirements or acceptance standards in the 1977 Edition through Sum =er 1978 Addenda of Section XI of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code are listed as, "In course of preparation", Toledo Edison will refer to Section III or Section V, as applicable, for the p

j requirements or standards. Additionally, Toledo Edison will conduct all g (>0 i examinations in accordance with the requirements stated in Subsection jg IWA-2000 of the 1977 Edition through Sucmer 1978 Addenda of Section XI.
