Title:

2018-001, Installation of two transfer tanks in the Temporary Liquid Waste System

Description:

This activity moves the two mobile liquid waste transfer tanks, in the mobile liquid waste system, from inside the reactor building to outside the building. This activity allows for dismantlement of the reactor building.

Summary: Operation of the new liquid waste system maintains the requirements of the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual, and malfunctions of the system result in consequences that are bounded by the liquid waste accident described in the Defueled Safety Analysis Report.

The conclusion of the evaluation was that the proposed activity could be implemented under 10 CFR 50.59 without requiring prior NRC review or approval.

Title:

2019-003, Modify Temporary Liquid Waste System

Description:

This activity removes the existing mobile tanks of the temporary liquid waste system and installs smaller tanks. This change provides the flexibility to move the system in the future and ultimately remove the system.*.

Summary: This change allows for the operation of the temporary liquid waste system using smaller tanks. The release limits have not changed such that there is no effect on the design bases or safety analysis. The malfunctions of the system result in consequences that are bounded by the liquid waste accident described in the Decommissioning Safety Analysis Report. The conclusion of the evaluation was that the proposed activity could be implemented under 10 CFR 50.59 without requiring prior NRC review or approval.
