LaCrosseSolutions provided NRC a spreadsheet with the response to the June 7, 2022, questions that shows the on-site gamma spectroscopy results for the samples of the original FSS performed in survey unit L1-010-101C. Within the spreadsheet, the Cs-137 value given for sample L1-010-101-FJ-GS-C16-SB was 1.54E+02 pCi/g. LaCrosseSolutions contends that the value given for this sample is a typo.
L1-010-101-FJ-GS-C16-SB was a judgmental sample collected on the western slope of the WTB excavation during the initial FSS (on 9/12/17) of survey unit L1-010-101C. Scans of the excavation sloping were performed on 9/12/17, with no elevated areas identified. The map below shows the scan lanes and maximum latched readings within each scan lane for the sloping of the WTB excavation. Given these scan readings, it is not likely that a 1.54E+02 pCi/g Cs-137 sample went undetected; thus, we believe the value in the spreadsheet to be a typo.
