By letter dated December 12, 1994, the NRC staff requested that Carolina Power & Light Company (CP8cL) commit to implement the current order timing modification and the new outage-based current order surveillance test as recommended by the Westinghouse Owners Group. Your letter referenced COL's responses to the Generic Letter dated August 4, 1993 and September 20, 1993. However, an additional CP8cL letter dated August 19, 1994 was not referenced. In that letter, CP8cL committed to modify the SHNPP Rod Control System current order timing in accordance with Westinghouse Technical Bulletin NSD-94-05-RO during the next refueling outage, RFO No.6, which is currently scheduled to commence in September 1995. That modification has subsequently been endorsed by the NRC and issued by Westinghouse in WCAP-13864, Revision 1-A.

Additionally, COL commits to implement the current order surveillance test as recommended by the Westinghouse Owners Group in "Recommended Rod Control System Surveillance Test" as distributed to the WOG member utilities on April 8, 1994.
