CD STATION UNIT NO 1 The fire protection rule, 10 CFR 50.48 paragraph C(2), required that modifications not requiring a plant shutdown be implemented within 9 months of the effective date of the rule which was November 17, 1981.

In complying with Section III.J, of Appendix R, we identified the need for 8 hour9.259259e-5 days
0.00222 hours
1.322751e-5 weeks
3.044e-6 months
emergency lights to provide access to operate equipment in the Tank Farm and in the Control Room. Most of these lights can be installed without a shutdown and, therefore, sheuld have been installed by November 17, 1981.

Due to equipment procurement problems we were unable to take delivery of the lights in time to install them by the required date. We have recently received partial shipment of lights with another delivery scheduled for December 14, 1981, and delivery of the seismically qualified Control Room lights scheduled for February 17, 1982.

Installation of the lights has begun and is expected to be complete no later than January 22, 1982. The Control Room lights will require an outage to install and will be completed in the 1982 outage scheduled to begin in September. The Control Room presently has battery backed lighting capable of a minimum of 2 hours2.314815e-5 days
5.555556e-4 hours
3.306878e-6 weeks
7.61e-7 months
operation.

All other modifications to comply with Sections III.G and III.0 will be completed during the 1982 outage. Please contact me if you require any additional information.
