This refers to your letter dated August 14, 1981, in response to oc ' letter dated August 7,1981.
Thank you for your comments concerning paragraph 5d of the subject inspection report.

The TMI Unit 1 Radiological Controls Procedure 1600, Department Organization Plan, Revision 2, and the Deputy Manager's Position Description, Revision 1, dated May 1,1981 were reviewed as part of Inspection 50-289/81-07.
That review, in conjunction with discussions held with various licensee represen-tatives, indicated that the selection of the Radiological Controls Department personnel and its organization structure were in accordance with the Technical Specifications and met the intent of Regulatory Guide 1.8 and ANSI 18.1.
The understanding of the URC staff, as to the responsibilities of the Deputy Manager Radiological Controls, is consistent with the above controlling docu-mants.
