ADDITIONAL FACTORS (con't)

1. Disc swing angles were checked and verified to be correct (80+2-0 degrees).

2. Bottom back edge of discs were ground in accordance with Schutte & Koerting instructions to prevent possible sticking of the disc in the open position.

3. Tail link and bushing total end to end clearances were checked and modified as required to provide a total clearance less than 0.106" but greater than 0.042".

4. All gaskets and "O" rings were inspected for wear and replaced as necessary.

Completion of this work eliminated the problems on Unit No. I trip valves that had been previously identified and corrected on Unit No. 2 (see A0-S2-75-12).

No further work or modifications are considered necessary at this time to insure the proper, safe and reliable operation of the main steam trip valves.
