The public is invited to participate by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meetings.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received a license renewal application (LRA) from Tennessee Valley Authority dated January 15, 2013, for the renewal of the operating license for the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the license renewal and environmental scoping process for the LRA review. These meetings are being conducted as part of the scoping process outlined in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 51 to support the development of an environmental impact statement.

PURPOSE:

Both meetings will be preceded by an informal "open house" beginning one hour prior to each meeting for those who wish to attend. The open house will provide members of the public with an opportunity to speak informally with NRC staff. Members of the public may register to present oral comments at these meetings by contacting Mr. Emmanuel Sayoc at 1-800-368-5642, extension 4048, or bye-mail at emmanuel.sayoc@nrc.gov by March 29, 2013. Those who wish to make comments may also register at the meetings within 15 minutes of the start of each session. Individual oral comments may be limited by the time available, depending on the number of persons who register.

The agenda for the meeting and Federal Register notice (March 5, 2013, 78 FRN 14362) are enclosed.
