As a re:, ult of a Region II initiative (Task Interface Agreement, TIA 96-15),

the staff of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation reviewed portions of a Catawba site document entitled " Catawba Nuclear Station Containment Integrity Review," circa 1995. The portions reviewed cetain 10 technical- positions regarding containment integrity taken by Catau a personnel.

The enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE) sets forth details of the staff's review of the subject document. The same SE has been transmitted to Region II in response to their TIA 96-15. The SE is provided for your information; no action is required as a result of this SE.
