FEB2s 124 f Ms. E111en Kirwan Retirement Claims Division Special Inquiry Branch Office of Personnel Management 1900 E Street, N.W. .

Washington, D.C. 20014

Dear Ms. Kirwan:

i In our. memorandum of December 29, 1983, we asked you to reconfirm an earlier l decision made by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on February 12, 1975.  ;

. As you know, at that time the CSC approved coverage for our investigator j positions in the Office of Inspector and Auditor (OIA) under 5 USC 8336(c).  !

4 Late January 1984, you. verbally reconfirmed this decision; however, you l questioned whether two of the positions, the Director, DIA, and the l Assistant Director for Investigations. 014 were sent with the original  !

request for coverage under 5 USC 8336(c). ,

j i

We believe that all the investigator position descriptions, supervisorj and nonsupervisory, and including those positions, were sent from the Office of Inspector and Auditor to the Civil Service Commission in 1975.

Therefore, we request that you review the attached two position descriptions in question, and reconfire CSC's decision to cover them under.5 USC 8336(c).

If you have any questions related to this matter, please feel free to contact Susan Dickerson of my staff on 492-9500.

1 Sincerely, l Original signed by m uz naurson . -
