Dear Ms. Young:

This letter responds to your recent request for additional information on three criminal investigator positions in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), referenced in our letter to Mr. Irving Shapiro of January 13, 1992.

You requested that these positions be defined as primary or secondary positions and that the percentage of time spent in conducting inspections versus investigations be described.

Per Robert Watkins, Acting for the Assistant Inspector General for Criminal Investigations, OIG, each of the positions in the subject letter (a copy of which is attached), is defined as a primary position. Additionally, the percentage of time spent in conducting inspections in these positions is approximately 10 percent, while 90 percent of the time is spent in direct criminal investigations.

If you have questions or need additional information, please call me at (301) 492-4631.

Sincerely, 1.0M Debbie Chan Policy and Labor Relations Office of Personnel
