Dear Ms. El-Almin:
Enclosed is a position, Special Assistant for Policy and Special Projects, GG-1811-14, Office of Inspector and Auditor (OIA), which the Agency has determined meets the retirement eligibility provisions of 5 USC 8336(c)(1).
Since this position has never been submitted to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for concurrence, we ask you to review it and advise us in writing of OPM's decision. We believe that this position, if approved, would fall under the secondary / administrative category.
The incumbent of the position reports directly to the Director, OIA and assists the Director and the Deputy Director in establishing policies governing the overall mission of 01A. Some of the major responsibilities include: a) conducting and/or supervising special projects, investigations, inspections, and audits that impact on the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of NRC; b) developing policies, standards and procedures relating to investigations, inspections, and audits to detect violations of laws and regulations and to recommend changes in those policies found to be incorrect or inadequate; and c) contacting the Commission and other Government agencies to present findings disclosed from special projects, investigations or inspections.
