Dear Mr. Baker:

l On May 17, 1984,.the'0ffice of Personnel Management (0PM) denied our request j

- for general coverage under section 8336(c) for the position, Director, Office '

of Inspector and Auditor. According to the letter, requests for reconsideration must be filed within 30 days from the date we received OPM's initial decision.

We plan to submit a request for reconsideration, but in order to do so we will need an extension of the 30 day time limit.

1 The incumbent of_ the position would like to review the Agency's response to OPM and he may provide us with additional information that will prove necessary and useful to include. Currently, however, he is on sabbatical at the University of Virginia and we are concernag that once the response is mailed and returned  !

we will have missed the 30 day time limit, thus the need for an extension.  !
