Thank you for your letter of May 12,1999, in response to our April 27,1999, letter and inspection report confirming your commitment as stated by Mr. M. Taylor, Manager, Nuclear Engineering, during the telephonic exit meeting on April 13,1999. The commitment stated that Union Electric Company would make available, for NRC review, an action plan outlining the scope and completion dates of a project to ensure through analysis or modification the repositioning capability of safety-related motor-operated valves following postulated hot shorts I caused by a control room fire no later than June 7,1999.
