This refers to the inspection conducted on September 15-19,1997, at your Siemens Power Corporation facility, The enclosed report presents the scope and results of this inspection.

The inspection included a review of selected activities at your facility in Richland, Washington, The inspector noted that your staff had implemented effective programs in the selected areas of operations and radiation protection reviewed during the inspection. The inspection also included a review of the circumstances involved with a reportable criticality safety event that occurred during this inspection This matter will be further reviewed in a subsequent NRC inspection, In accordance with 10 CFR 2,790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR),
