INITIAL CRITICALITY. l On October 25, 1987, at 1834 PM, MST, the Unit 3 reactor was brought critical following .
dilution of the reactor coolant system. Predicted critical boron concentration was 1015 l ppm with Group 5 control rod bank 75 inches withdrawn. Actual critical boron concentration was 1010 ppm with Group 5 control rod bank 60 inches withdrawn (1014 ppm when normalized to Group 5 control rod bank 75 inches withdrawn). The resident inspector witnessed the approach to initial criticality.
