Dear Jim,

Confirming our conversation with your Geoff Wright on 12/18/86, we wish to notify you of a valve related problem that occured at Pennsylvania Power and Light's Susquehanna Plant #2. They found that Houghto #620 lubricant attacks and degrades aluminum in our valves.

Valves have or are being rebuilt at this time to correct the situation.

Pennsylvania Power and Light has changed their lubricant requirement from 1:oughto #620 to Parker Super "0" (our qualified lubricant) for the rebuild.

Commonwealth Edison's Quad Cities plants also have valves lubricated with this Houghto #620.

Should you need additional information, please call.

Very truly yours, T ll,c >
