Dear Mr. Margulies:

The Shoreham-Wading River Board of Education has long held that the laws and regulations governing the licensing of nuclear power plants should be followed. We therefore support efforts to formulate, test and evaluate emergency plans for the area around the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.

Sometime ago the Shoreham-Wading River Board of Education constituted a committee consisting of school board members, parents, administrators, teachers, C.S.E.A. members, high school students, school bus drivers, and school bus company representatives to draft an outline of an emergency plan for the school district. As part of this committee's review, a survey was conducted which indicated that the district had enough bus drivers and staff members who volunteered to be trained as bus drivers and enough buses and minibuses to transport all the district school children, public, private, and parochial, at one time to any site designated in an emergency plan.

The school district has now moved to reactivate this committee and we are prepared to communicate and collaborate with any organization or government agency charged with the responsibility for emergency planning for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station and to participate in tests of the emergency plan.

Cordially yours, MON AM Albert G. Prodell President, Board of Education 8508070791 850712 PDR ADOCK 05000322 O PDR Oh
