m O DOCKET 50-255, LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT, ER-76-08 GASE0US RELEASE Attached is a reportable occurrence which relates to the Palisades Plant. This occurrence was caused by an operational error but did not result in a release above permissible levels. If the tank had been filled with highly radioactive gas, the discharge radiation monitor would have automatically terminated the release.

Even though this occurrence was the result of an operator error, it should be noted that this error was observed and the release terminated without the benefit of alarm or trip signals and that this action limited the relcase to a small portion of the tank volu=e.
