KEWAUNEE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - DOCKET 50-305

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE December 2001 Unit continued to be shut down for 2001 Refueling/Maintenance/SGR Outage until December 4. G- 1 was closed at 1935, full power (100%) was reached on December 19 at 1625. The unit continues to operate at 100%, steady state power.

Maintenance Group Activities for the Month Instrument and Control Group Activities for the Month I&C completed the following work orders for December:

"* Repaired several core exit thermocouple detector/indication problems

"* Repaired fitting leak on primary system transmitter

"* Installed DCR 3338 for pressure switches on SW header for pressure controls utilizing SW-4A and SW-4B

"* Replaced and repaired a temperature signal converter module in Foxboro protection rack

"* Supported Reactor Physics testing utilizing spare detector and N-43 detector

"* Repaired a leaking Swagelok fitting near RC-704 on Reactor head

"* Supported replacement of welded Swagelok fitting on S/G level transmitter condensing pot due to damaged fitting

"* Supported plant startup which included venting of transmitters on primary and secondary side

"* Corrected the sensing line misalignment on steam flow transmitter

"* Replaced the circuit board in N-43 drawer due to sticking test pushbutton

"* Replaced a pressure gauge on service water pump

"* Repaired module mounting screw holes in Foxboro racks

"* Recalibrated the Foxboro module for temperature setpoint 2, TC405L

"* Replaced solenoid coil on "A" main feedwater regulating valve and "A" main feedwater bypass valve due to EQ Electrical Maintenance Performed preventative maintenance and surveillance procedures on the following equipment:

"* Buses 1 & 2 UV/UF Relays

"* SP42-320A & B Auto Sequencer Relays

"* Reactor Trip Breakers

"* Buses 5 & 6 UV Relays

"* Station Batteries

"* Substation Batteries

"* Substation Inspection Work Orders:

"* Inverter BRA- 111 Repair

"* Inverters BRA- 112, BRB- 11 & 112 Frequency Adjustments

"* Demobilize SGR Facilities

"* Demobilize Ecolochem Trailers & Equipment Mechanical Maintenance

"* Installed insulation on the Pressurizer Surge Line and B Reactor Coolant Pump left during the outage

"* Installed a new actuator and valve on SW-301B, Emergency Diesel Generator B Service Water Return Isolation

"* Commenced trouble shooting 1B2 Traveling Water Screen

"* Performed PM's on the Charging Pump Dampeners

"* Replaced the mechanical seal on 1B Spent Fuel Pump
