The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the referenced telephone conversation. At that time, it was estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.

PVNGS UNIT 2 I. POTENTIAL PROBLEM During a surveillance inspection of motor operated butterfly valves supplied by Henry Pratt Company, one (1) bolt that secures the yoke to valve body on valve tag number 2JCPBUV3A was not properly tightened. The visual inspection revealed that the lockwasher was not fully compressed. This DER was initiated to evaluate whether this condition could invalidate seismic acceptability.

II. APPROACll TO AND STATUS OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION Bechtel is currently corresponding with Henry Pratt Company to disposition this item.

III. PROJECTED C0!!PLETION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION AND SUBMITTAL OF TIIE FINAL REPORT Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the Final Report is forecast to be completed by February 4, 1983.
