SUMMARY

LaSalle Unit 1 operated at full power for the month of July 2003, with the exception of the following:

  • July 7 (2319) - Power was reduced to 1060 MWe to stabilize the electrical grid affected by the Unit 2 automatic scram. The grid was stabilized and the unit returned to full power 0937 hrs on July 8, 2003.

SUMMARY

LaSalle Unit 2 operated at full power for the month of July 2003, with the exception of the following:

  • July 7 (2319) - Shutdown due to an automatic scram caused by the failure of the main power transformer B-Phase disconnect. The affected disconnect was repaired. During the outage, a leaking safety relief valve was replaced. The unit was returned to service 1745 hrs on July 12 and returned to full power 0552 hrs on July 16, 2003.

C. UNIQUE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR UNIT TWO

1. Challenges other than routine surveillance testing to Safety/Relief Valve Operations- Due to the loss of the condenser during the July 7 trip, the SRVs were challenged and operated.
2. Major Changes to Radioactive Waste Treatment Systems-None
