SUMMARY

The unit started the month of December operating at reduced power (797 MWe) due to recovery from the November 27, 2003, manual scram. The unit was returned to full power on December 2. The unit operated at full power for the remainder of the month with the following exceptions: On December 6, power was reduced to 897 MWe for control rod pattern adjustment. The unit was returned to full power on December 7. On December 10, power was reduced to 487 MWe to mitigate a loss of feedwater heater event caused by the inadvertent opening of the 1 B Turbine Driven Reactor Feed pump minimum flow valve. The valve controller was repaired and the unit was returned to full power on December 12. On December 21 power was reduced to 870 MWe for control rod pattern adjustment. The unit was returned to full power on December 21.

SUMMARY

The unit operated during the month at full power with the following exceptions: On December 12, power was reduced to 940 MWe for inspection of the 2B Turbine Driven Reactor Deed pump minimum flow valve. The unit was returned to full power on December 12. On December 13, power was reduced to 590 MWe to repair steam leaks in the feedwater heater bays. Packing for two valves was repaired and the unit was returned to full power on December 15.
