SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Limerick Unit 1 began the month of October in OPCON 5* with approximately one quarter of the l

. core off loaded, in day 24 of the refueling outage. Core offload was completed on October 6. On i October 25, following control rod blade shuffles and drive mechanism replacement, core reload commenced. Unit i ended the month of October in OPCON 5' with approximately 80% of the core ,

reloaded, In day 54 of a scheduled 75 day refueling outage.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Umerick Unit 2 began the month of October at a nominal 100% of rated thermal power On October 4, reactor power was briefly reduced to 91% to perform Main Turbine Control Valve testing and a i Control Rod. pattern adjustment. On October 15, an inadvertent trip on the '2A' Reactor i

, Recirculating Pump was experienced while performing a surveillance test, this caused a reactor j

, power decrease to 16.5%, Reactor Power was restored to a nominal 100% on October 16.' On >

October 17, reactor power was briefly reduced to 91% to perform a Control Rod pattern adjustment.

Operational events that occurred during the month of October included:

. Reactor Recirculation Pump ATWS breaker tripped due to a testing error, Reactor power  !

- (CREFAS) in service for filter shakedown following charcoal replacement,both CREFAS trains j were determined to be inoperable, The Inoperable status was due to inappropriate' J, positioning of control switches, The 'B' train was immediately restored to an operable  ;

L alignment. . Operation with bath CREFAS trains inoperable constituted a Technical. .

Specification violation. A 30 day report will be submitted pursuant to 10CFR 50,73.
