DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 NRC TAC NOS. M85998, M85999, THERMO-LAG LABORATORY

TEST RESULT REPORTS FOR 6" CABLE TRAY AND AMPACITY DERATING OF CABLE PROTECTED BY THERMO-LAG, AND TAC
NO. M86000 FOR MOTOR OPERATED VALVES REF: NUREG-0797, Supplement Nos. 26 and 27, Safety Evaluation Report Gentlemen:

TU Electric is hereby docketing copies of the laboratory test reports which document the results of fire endurance and ampacity derating testing. The  ;

test reports being docketed were hand delivered to Mr. B. E. Holian of the NRC Staff, and are as follows:
a) Scheme 15-1; " Fire Endurance Test of a Thermo-Lag 330-1 Fire Protective i Envelope
36 Inch Tray."

2 b) Ampacity derating of fire protected cables; " Electrical Test to Determine the Ampacity Derating of a Protective Envelope for Class 1E Electrical Circuits."

NUREG-0797, Supplement No. 26 discusses TU Electric's commitment to complete

, design modifications to address the potential spurious operation of certain motor operated valves. This action is being tracked by NRC TAC No. M86000.

TU Electric has approved and scheduled these design modifications to be completed prior to startup from the first refueling outage for Unit 2 and prior to startup from the third refueling outage for Unit 1.

Additionally, NUREG-0797, Supplement No. 27 states that issues regarding testing associated with 36" cable trays and ampacity derating are being tracked by NRC Staff utilizing NRC TAC Nos. M85998 and M85999. The
submittal of these test reports should resolve these items.
