' Main' steam lim code safety valves lifted below setpoint contrary to .whnical Specification 3 7.1.1.

LConditions Prior to Occurrence:

Mode 3 - Hot shutdown (O%)

Description of Occurrence:

Performance of SP-650, Main' Steam Code Safety Valves Test, following a Reactor trip which occurred. at 0954 revealed that Main Steam Line Code Valves MSV-33,35,36 and 37 lifted at less .thaa the required setpoint.~ Maintenance was initiated,and operability was restored within 14 hrs. '

Designation of Apparent Cause:

The cause of this event is attributed to setpoint drift.-

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no effect upon the health or' safety of the general public.

' Corrective Action:

The valve lift / reseat setpoints were reset. No further corrective action is deemed necessary.

Failure Data:

This was the . firat time MSV-33 & 37 opened below setpoint, ',

the second time MSV-35 & 36 ' opened below setroint, and this 3 is the fourth event reported under this specification.
