Hr. Hendrie: \"\ 3 I am speaking as a citizen of Porter County, Indiana, t *k= l nS'j 8 express my strong opposition to the construction of a nuclear power plant at Burns Harbor, Indiana. There are many valid reasons why the nuclear plant should not be built at the Burns Harbor locttien and I am sure you are aware of all of them. In spite of the fact that you are known to be " pro-nuclear power". the people directly involved (residents of the area) do not want a nuclear pcwer plant in their back yards. We know that a nuclear power plant is not necessary for energy in the forseeable future and we have been told by experts that in twenty years nuclear power plants will be obsolete. How, then, can construction of a nuclear power plant at Burns Harbor be justified? Sincerely,
