SUMMARY

OF DECEMBER 11, 2014, PUBLIC MEETING WITH PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY REGARDING INSTALLATION OF 500 KILOVOLT OUTPUT GENERATOR BREAKERS (TAC NOS. MF5315 AND MF5316)

On December 11, 2014, a public meeting was held between Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E or the licensee) at the request of the licensee. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the PG&E's plan for the installation of 500 kiloVolt (kV) output generator breakers at Diablo Canyon Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 (DCPP). The Enclosure contains a list of attendees. The licensee's presentation slides may be accessed from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML14352A207.

The licensee presented its approach for the installation of 500 kV output generator breakers at DCPP. The licensee is planning to submit the license amendment request (LAR) by June 30, 2015, and will request NRC approval of the LAR in 18 months. The NRC staff communicated to the licensee that LAR approval could take 24 months. No regulatory decisions were made at the meeting.
