Preparation for Region I Inspection at Pilgrim We have some additional thoughts based on our discussion of last Thursday.1. Fuse Holders -no AMP since no fuse holders with metallic clamps perform LR intended functions.

2. Compressed Air -we don't use the GALL AMP, but we have a plant-specific instrument air quality program.3. RWCU -Supplement 1 to GL 88-01 states that IGSCC inspection of RWCU piping outside of the containment isolation valves is recommended only until actions associated with GL 89-10 on motor operated valves are completed.

Since PNPS has satisfactorily completed all actions requested in NRC GL 89-10, the Water Chemistry Control -BWR Program is used in lieu of the BWR Reactor Water Cleanup System Program to manage this potential aging effect.4. Protective Coatings -no AMP. We don't credit coatings to prevent loss of material and no AMP will prevent LOCA forces from stripping off protective coatings.

ILKent Howard -FW: Preparation for Region I Inspection at Pilgrim P... age 2-P I hope this information is useful.Lastly, per our discussion, Pilgrim will arrange for an ENTRANCE MEETING at 2 PM on September 18, 2006. I further understand that you will likely arrive before your team and Pilgrim will be ready to support you at your arrival. Your team and our team will meet daily to review status and specific needs to assure completeness of the Pilgrim support and responsiveness.

The first inspection week ending DEBRIEF will be on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 9 AM. Will you require an entrance on October 2, 2006 (week two of the inspection)?

I assume that the week two debrief will be at 9 AM on October 6, 2006.Fred c:\temp\GW)00001.TMP Paq-g---ll c:\temp\GW}QOOO1 .TMP i~w~iii Mail Envelope Properties (44F2FAFB.438*
