Dear Ms. Fleming,

This email is to acknowledge the receipt of Holtec Decommissioning Internationals, LLC (HDI) submittal docketed on August 29, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession Number ML22241A112), providing the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the requests an exemption from the requirements of Title 10 of the Code ofFederal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 72.212 (a)(2), (b)(2), (b)(3), (b)

(4), (B)(5)(i), (b)(11), and 72.214 for Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNPS) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report (ARERR).

As part of the acceptance review of your submittal, the NRC will provide a preliminary review, hours, and anticipated completion date based upon our current review schedules.

The NRC staff will evaluate your submittal and determine if the HDI application contains sufficient information to allow the staff to complete the detailed review. If the application does not contain sufficient information for the staff, then a Request for Supplemental Information (RSI) will be issued, and the staff will provide HDI an opportunity to discuss the RSI and to clarify a final resolution.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS.
