PART 11 LICENSE CHANGES (TAC NO. L31093)

Dear Mr. Maas:

We have reviewed the changes to Part 11 of the application for Materials License SNM-1227, submitted by letter dated July 8,1998. The changes included updating the descriptions and drawings for the Operations Scrape Warehouse, Cylinder Recertification Facility, Waste Storage Facility, and Modular Extraction Recovery Facility. The package also included changes to the process exhaust system and emergency power system.

The subject letter indicates Siemens replaced two 225 KW generators with one 500 KW l generator, and now has a total of two 500 KW emergency generators onsite. However, the text l in the new revision mistakenly implies three 500 KW generators onsite. The staff views this l

error as administrative and will note it in the license application. Please inform the NRC if this interpertation is incorrect.

If you have any questions regarding this correspondence, please call me at (301) 415-6317.
