of Agency Inspector and Auditor performs such inspection and investigations as may be required to assure the integrity of operations of the Nuclear Regu--

latory Commission.

Regular Duties 1.

Conducts investigations of possible violations of criminal laws or regulations and other irregularities in the administration of Commission programs and activities.

2.

Analyzes and summarizes those investigations undertaken and documents them in accordance with professional standards.

3.

Assists, as required, in inspection of activities within the Commission. l 1

4.

Assists in the development and inplementation of'the Commission's investigative policies and procedures.

5.

Performs other specialized investigative duties as assigned by a Supervisory Investigator or the Director, Office of Inspector and Auditor.

ANALYSIS Basic Skill Broad knowledge of Federal criminal laws and investigative techniques and procedures in order to conduct professio FiiiviisdgaffoQ~ violations of those laws or irregularities within th gulatory Commission.

Ability to prepare in writing concise and accurate summaries of investiga-tions in line with good investigative report writing technigdes.-

Knowledge' of persongel administration policies,~ practices and procedures within the Federal Government and NRC in order to recognize and accurately assess if violation of the same have occurred.

'nowledge of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended and'the Energy Reorgani-zation Act of 1974 sufficient to perform investigations into violations as

Specialized knowledge of inspection e,nd audit functions as applied to Federal operations and procedures.

CONTACTS Continuous contacts with all levels of Commission. personnel in pursuing investigative, inspection or audit assignments.

Continuous contact with investigative and audit personnel of other agencies for the purpose of pursuing invest!igations and obtaining additional infor-mation as required.

Occasional contact with GAO, private industry and congressional personnel in connection with matters under investigation by the HRC.
