We have made'this detennination after substantial in-house review as well as comparison with similar positions in other agencies. Both have resulted in a decision that these positions do fall subject to the provisions of Public Law 93-350. Accordingly, retirement deduc-tions of 71/2% and agency contributions of 71/2% have been made since these personnel reported for duty with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Regular Duties

- 1.

Supervises and conducts investigations of possible violations of criminal laws or regulations and other irregularities in the administration of Commission programs and activities.

2.

Analyzes and sumarizes those investigations undertaken and docements them in accordance with professional standards.

3.

Assists, as required, in inspections and audi't of activities I

within the Comission.

- 4.

Develops and implements the Comission's investigative policies

. and procedures.

5.

Performs other specialized investigative duties as assigned by j

the Director, Office of Inspector'and Auditor.

6.

Assures that investigations are pursued, documented and finalize in accordance with professional standards.

7.

Maintains liaison with key Government personnel in other depart-ments and agencies, i.e., Department of Justice, FBI, Treasury Department, Postal Inspection Service, etc.

Basic Skill Detailed knowledge of Federal criminal laws and investigative techniques l and procedures in order to conduct professional investigation of violatic l of those laws or ~ irregularities.within the Nuclear Regulatory Comission. !

Ability to p'repare in writing concise and accurate summaries of investigt tions in.line with good investigative report writing techniq'ues.

i In-depth knowledge of personnel administration policies, practices and procedures within the Federal Government and HRC in order to recognize ar accurately euess if violation of the same have occurred.

. Knowledge of the Atomic Energy 'Act of 1954 as amende,d and the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 sufficient to perform investigations into vio' tions as they relate to these acts.
